Amour-Lynx, Still Life (Some Words To Live By). 2016.

I have talked about how I always wanted to make a "coffee table book" called Still Life, that would have pictures of dead animals. Because, I thought it was cheeky and sometimes "high" art needs a lowbrow laugh. I have a morbid sense of humour but that's the circle of life!

So I made it.

Still Life is a full colour zine of various dead animals that have been spotted on Toronto’s city streets between the years of 2007-2016. The images are juxtaposed with cliché motivational phrases that create distorted relationships with the imagery using candid, deadpan humour.
